What's the difference between a bucket hat and a boonie hat?
They’re close cousins. A bucket hat has a softer, narrower brim that slopes downward. A boonie has a wider, stiffer brim that sits flatter, usually with a chin strap — it’s the military-style version. Both take embroidery or patches the same way. If you want maximum sun coverage, go boonie; for a casual, packable everyday hat, go bucket.
What are custom bucket hats used for?
Fishing, hunting, golf tournaments, camp staff, beach and lifeguard programs, festivals, and corporate giveaways. They fold flat and fit in a pocket, so they’re one of the few promotional hats people actually keep and wear. Camo and pigment-washed styles are popular for outdoor events; the reversible sublimated style is popular for brands that want an all-over print.
How big can my logo be on a custom bucket hat?
Front decoration area is about 2.25″ tall by 4.5″ wide, whether it’s embroidery, a printed transfer, or a sewn-on patch. Send us your art and we’ll mock it up at scale before you commit.
Do you make full-color or all-over printed bucket hats?
Yes. Our fully sublimated bucket hat is 100% polyester with the artwork printed into the fabric, so the whole hat is your design. It’s available reversible (two designs, one hat), in youth, S/M and L/XL, with a 24-piece minimum. You can add an embroidered logo on top or build the logo into the print.
Can I get custom bucket hats in kids' sizes?
Yes — we can source youth and infant bucket hats to match adult orders, so a family event or camp program can outfit everyone. Ask us when you request a quote and we’ll confirm the current styles and colors.
